Flagler College Cheerleading Squad

Thank you for your interest in the Flagler Cheerleading Squad.  Our squad is striving for excellence every year, and this year is no exception.  Our cheerleaders cheer at all home men's and women's basketball games, fundraise, and attend certain school functions and community events.  We will also travel to select away games. Please note that all cheerleaders, including last year’s squad, must tryout.

To tryout, you must:

complete the Flagler College Cheerleading Application.
complete a physical and have a doctor-signed medical release form.
have your high school or all-star coach fill out our Coach Recommendation form.
attend two days of clinics, an interview, and tryouts.

Skill requirements at tryouts:

Cheer (learned at clinic)
Dance (learned at clinic)
Level toe-touch and side hurdler
Fly or base an extension or a lib
Tumbling (there will be some flexibility as this is the first year tumbling is required)

Other factors that affect our decision:

Appearance (hair contained, neatly dressed, wearing red, gold and/or white)
Attitude (participation and improvement at clinic, interview, and coach’s recommendation form)
Advanced tumbling and/or stunts

There is no set limit for the number of cheerleaders chosen for the team.  The squad’s size will be based on the talent at tryouts.

Each FC cheerleader is responsible for the purchase of:

Shoes
Briefs (females only)
Bodysuit (females only)
Shorts
T-shirt
Socks (females only)

The price for these items will be no more than $100-150.  Items must be paid for before the beginning of the first game.
