Katie Beale named AVCA Honorable Mention All-America

Katie Beale was named to the AVCA Honorable Mention All-America Team this afternoon.
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Senior outside hitter Katie Beale (Stuart, Fla./Martin County HS) was selected to the 2009 AVCA Honorable Mention All-America Team released Monday afternoon. She is the first Flagler volleyball player to be named to an All-AVCA team.

Beale has also earned AVCA and Daktronics All-Southeast Region honors all within the past week.

Beale leads the team with 506 kills and her 488 digs are just seven shy of setting a school single-season record. She leads the team with 21 double-doubles. She earned Southeast Region All-Tournament honors and was an All-Peach Belt Conference first team selection. Beale also earned PBC Player of the Week honors earlier in the season.

Flagler (35-8) will take on Dowling College Thursday (Dec. 3) at noon Central in a quarterfinal match of the NCAA Division II National Volleyball Championship at St. Paul, Minn.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − The Flagler College volleyball program rounded out this year’s recruiting class with five recruits, head coach Taylor Mott announced today. Members of the incoming class are: Dianna Craine (Oshawa, Ontario/University of Tulsa/Eastside Collegiate and Vocational Institute), Amanda Dougherty (Coplay, Pa./Parkland HS), Emilee Taylor (Temple Terrace, Fla./Armwood HS), Taylor Willis (Zephyrhills, Fla./Zephyrhills HS) and Melissa Woodall (Marietta, Ga./Lassiter HS).
