Flagler to host Independent Tournament Thursday-Saturday

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − Flagler College will host the National Independent Women’s Basketball Tournament which begins tomorrow (Mar. 5) and runs through Saturday at Flagler Gym. Joining Flagler in the tournament are 20th-ranked University of the District of Columbia and the University of Puerto Rico-Bayamon.

Flagler (4-23) opens the tournament tomorrow at 7 p.m. against UDC (22-4). On Friday, UDC takes on Puerto Rico-Bayamon, also at 7 p.m. The tournament wraps up on Saturday at 7 p.m. with Flagler hosting UPR-Bayamon.

UDC has all but locked up regional berth in the upcoming Atlantic Regional with the winner advancing to the Division II Elite Eight.

Flagler will close out the season with this tournament and UPRB is in the midst of its schedule with the other Puerto Rican schools.

Single game tickets are $5 or a tournament pass is $10.
