Flagler's women's basketball coach Sherri Abbey-Nowatzki resigns

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − Flagler College women’s basketball coach Sherri Abbey-Nowatzki has resigned her post to pursue other interests, Saints athletic director Dave Barnett announced today.
A search for her successor will begin immediately.
"We appreciate Sherri’s contribution to the women's basketball program over the last three years," said Barnett. "We wish her well in her future endeavors."
Abbey-Nowatzki compiled a record of 33-55 (.375) record at Flagler since taking over in 2006. She helped transition the program from NAIA Division II to NCAA Division II.
Before coming to Flagler, Abbey-Nowatzki was the head women’s basketball coach at Army for seven years (1998-2005) and at D’Youville College for two years (1991-93). She has a career record of 142-194 (.423). Abbey-Nowatzki also served as an assistant coach at St. Bonaventure University (1996-98) and at Navy (1993-96).
Abbey-Nowatzki was also an assistant athletic director for marketing and served as the department’s liaison to the athletic booster club, the Saints Club.
