ORLANDO, Fla. − Flagler College’s
Chris Bray (Hilliard, Fla./Hilliard HS),
Joel Dahlenburg (St. Augustine, Fla./Bartram Trail HS) and
Steven Davis (Orange Park, Fla./Fleming Island HS) participated in the 18th Florida State Public Links Championship which concluded last Sunday (June 14) at the Grande Pines Golf Club (par 72; 6,869 yards).
Bray finished in a four-way tie for 10th place with 5-over par 221. He carded an even-par 72 in the final round after shooting a 73 and 76 in the first two rounds, respectively. Dahlenburg finished in a five-way tie for 22nd place with a 12-over 228 (75-75-78). Davis came in 34th place, along with five other golfers, with a 16-over 232 (75-77-80).
Tommy Mou of Bradenton won the championship with a 12-under 204, holding off Thomas Murray of Orange Park by four strokes. Only four players shot under par.
The Flagler men’s golf season gets underway on Sept. 6 at the Kiawah Island (S.C.) Invitational, hosted by three-time NCAA Division II champion University of South Carolina-Aiken.
