Flagler's Cotrone falls in title match

SUMTER, S.C. – The Flagler College junior David Cotrone (Bradenton, Fla./Bradenton Christian) run through the men’s singles “A” flight ended today as lost 6-1 and 6-2 to No. 9-seed Rafael Array of Armstrong Atlantic State at the Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional at the Palmetto Tennis Center.

Cotrone battled illness and fatigue today but had one of the most memorable runs in the four-day tournament as he knocked off four seeded players including the No. 1 seed.

ST. AUGUSTINE – The No. 12 (Campbell’s/ITA Division II Preseason Top 25) Flagler College men’s tennis program and 21st-year head men’s tennis coach Walter Shinn announced the 2012 schedule Monday. Flagler will play 18 matches with 10 played at the Flagler Tennis Center.

SUMTER, S.C. – The Flagler College men’s tennis team played in the USTA/Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) Southeast Regional Championships last weekend at the Palmetto Tennis Center. The tournament was interrupted by rain and many of the final matches were conducted on home courts.
