ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − The Flagler College men’s golf team, fresh of winning the AASU Pirate Invitational yesterday, is ranked No. 21 in the latest Golf World/Nike Division II Coaches Top 25 Poll, released this morning. It is the first poll of the spring season.
Flagler registered 112 points and joins fellow Peach Belt Conference members in the top 25: 2) GSCU; 8) Lander; 19) Columbus State; and 20) USC Aiken. Receiving votes for the poll were: Georgia Southwestern, Montevallo, Clayton State, UNC Pembroke and Armstrong Atlantic.
Barry University is the top-ranked team having garnered 10-of-18 first place votes.
The Saints have already won two tournaments this spring season, including yesterday’s in Savannah. Flagler won the Outback Steakhouse Intercollegiate in Panama City, Fla., at the beginning of February.
The Saints are off until the Mar. 7-9 Barton College Invitational in Wilson, N.C.
