ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − A five-run sixth inning vaulted Flagler College past Lincoln Memorial University, 13-6, Tuesday night in a non-conference baseball game at Flagler Stadium.

Flagler raised its record to 14-9 overall while Lincoln Memorial, a member of the South Atlantic Conference, lost its third straight game and fell to 14-11.

Travis Coverston (Jacksonville, Fla./Stanton College Prep) paced Flagler's 18-hit attack going 4-for-5 with a double and two runs batted in. Charlie Stewart (Port St. Lucie, Fla./Lincoln Park Academy) went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI while John Sgromolo (Fleming Island, Fla./Clay HS) went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and collected three walks. Cale Owen (Clearwater, Fla./home schooled) singled three times and scored twice while Jose Rohena (Tampa, Fla./St. Petersburg College) went 2-for-4 with a double and drove in three runs.

Heath Storey (Kennett, Mo./Jefferson College) (1-0) tossed three innings in relief to pick up the win. He allowed two hits and one earned run and also struck out two batters.

The Saints trailed 4-1 in the bottom of the fifth until a three-run uprising, capped by Sgromolo's two-run homer, tied the game at 4-all.

The Railsplitters scored a run in the top of the sixth, but the Saints answered in the home half when they sent 10 batters to the plate and scored five runs to take a 9-5 lead. Rohena drove in the eventual game-winning run on a sacrifice fly. Ollie Bertrand (Sainte-Adèle, Quebec/Monroe CC) added a two-run single in the frame.

Flagler sent another 10 batters to the plate in the seventh and added four runs. Rohena hit a two-run double in the inning.

Cody Pack led Lincoln Memorial by going 3-for-5 and he hit a solo home run in the seventh. John Couch singled, doubled and drove in a run while Gelson Perez hit a two-run single in the second.

Brad Pressley (1-3) lasted five-plus innings and surrendered 11 hits and five earned runs.

The same two teams meet tomorrow at 5 p.m. at Flagler Stadium.
