ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Flagler College men's tennis team moved up to No. 16 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II Top 45 Poll released Wednesday afternoon. Flagler opened the season ranked No. 34. The Flagler men were also ranked No. 6 in the Southeast Region.
The Peach Belt Conference is well represented in the top 50. Two-time defending national champion Armstrong Atlantic State University remains in first place with Columbus State University (No. 8), Georgia College & State University (No. 11), Lander University (No. 14), Francis Marion University (No. 15), USC Aiken (No. 17) and Augusta State University (No. 23).
The Southeast Region Poll is as follows: 1) AASU; 2) Columbus State; 3) GCSU; 4) Lander; 5) Francis Marion; 6) Flagler; 7) USC Aiken; 8) Augusta State; 9) Lees-McRae; 10) Anderson (S.C.); 11) Limestone; 12) Wingate; 13) Barton; 14) Mount Olive; 15) Mars Hill; 16) Tusculum; and, No. 17) Brevard (N.C.).
Flagler hosts No. 12 Northwood University (Mich.) on Saturday (Mar. 6) at 12:30 p.m. at the Flagler Tennis Center.
