ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − Joey Manning belted a three-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to rally Rollins College past Flagler College 5-4 in a non-conference baseball game Tuesday night at Flagler Stadium.

Rollins won its fourth game in a row to improve to 24-13 while Flagler lost its second in a row and fell to 20-16.

The Saints held a 3-1 lead going into the top of the seventh and Johnny Gaines (Jacksonville, Fla./Hillsborough CC) came on in relief. Justin Yount led off for the Tars and drew a walk and then stole second base. Two batters later, Tony Brunetti singled Yount home. Following a wild pitch and walk to the next batter, Manning hit a line drive over the left field fence to give the Tars a 5-3 lead.

The Saints scored an unearned run in the bottom of the seventh and then had runners at second and third with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, but couldn't push across a run.

Rollins' 5-6-7 hitters combined to go 6-for-14 with three runs batted in. Manning went 2-for-5 with the home run and three RBI while Ben Hewett singled twice. Max Pavy singled and doubled for the Tars.

Garret Yount (2-0) tossed an inning in relief, allowed three hits and one run. Brad Renner started and went five innings, allowed three hits, two runs and struck out four.

Justin McKenna (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Allen D. Nease HS) singled twice while Chris Jessop (Ashburn, Va./Broad Run HS) hit a two-run single in the fifth.

Gaines (3-4) last one-third of an inning and surrendered three hits and four runs. Danny Vliet (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Catholic HS) started and lasted five innings, scattered five hits and allowed one run. Heath Storey (Kennett, Mo./Jefferson College) went one and two-thirds scoreless innings, allowed one hit and fanned four.

Flagler hits the road for the next eight games and will start with a three-game Peach Belt Conference series at the University of Montevallo. The two teams will meet in a 1 p.m. (Central) doubleheader on Saturday (Apr. 10).
