Jonathan Armold named to All-Region team

Jonathan Armold was selected to the NCBWA All-Region Team.
LAURINBURG, N.C. − Flagler College sophomore right-handed pitcher Jonathan Armold (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Pine Crest School) has been selected to the 2010 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association’s (NCBWA) All-Southeast Region Team, released this afternoon.

Armold, an honorable mention selection, led the Flagler staff with a 3.63 earned run average and posted a 6-1 record with 15 appearances and a staff-high 14 starts. He completed one game and combined on a shutout. Armold tossed 86 and two-thirds innings and fanned 60 batters. He was a second-team All-Peach Belt Conference selection.

He helped lead Flagler to a 29-23 overall record and a 14-10 mark in the Peach Belt Conference, the school’s first season in the conference. Armold also helped the Saints reach the Peach Belt Conference post-season tournament where they advanced to the semifinals.

The NCBWA is comprised of sports information directors and some media members from all over the country.
