Head Coach Kristen Overton announced five more additions to the Flagler roster for the 2011 season.

Overton concludes recruiting class with five additions

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − Flagler College head softball coach Kristen Overton has announced the completion of her recruiting class with the addition of five new players. The newcomers are: Sarah Albino (Adelaide, Australia/Florida State College of Jacksonville), Breanna “Breezy” Collings (Orange City, Fla./Brevard CC), Robyn Draper (Brampton, Ontario/State College of Florida), Donna Munafo (Satellite Beach, Fla./Brevard CC) and Alona Personius (Lake Stevens, Wash./Florida State College-Jacksonville).

“I am excited about this group of junior college transfers,” said Overton. “These five young women have all proven that they are great players at the next level and it's going to be a pleasure to see them continue their success both on and off the field here at Flagler.”

Albino is a 5-foot-3 outfielder/utility who hails from Australia and played at nearby Florida State College-Jacksonville for Flagler alum and Hall of Famer Jami Friedman-Lind '79. Last season, Albino batted .333, and in the state tournament he posted a .556 average. In her two-year career at FSCJ, she collected 65 hits, 11 doubles and scored 41 runs. Albino also helped lead the Stars to the state title in 2009.

Collings, a 5-foot-7 infielder, starred for Brevard Community College in Melbourne, Fla., for the past two seasons. As a freshman at BCC, she led the state in runs batted in with 67 and earned All-Southern Conference first-team and All-FCCAA second-team honors. This past season, she collected 46 RBI and socked two home runs for the Titans. As a senior at Lake Mary High, she was named to the Class 1A all-state team after hitting 10 home runs and driving in 46.

Draper is a 5-foot-4 catcher/outfielder from the State College of Florida of Bradenton. She batted .370 for her career, collected 102 hits and stole 40 bases for the Manatees. Draper earned first-team All-Suncoast Conference honors in 2008 and 2009 as well as being selected to the All-FCCAA first-team as a freshman and the All-Gulf District team as a sophomore. She also played for the Canadian Junior National Team in 2006 and 2007 and captained both teams. Draper helped lead Canada to a third place finish at the '06 Pan Am Games in Puerto Rico and a fourth place finish at the '07 World Championships in Enschede, Netherlands.

Munafo, a 5-foot-9 pitcher, transfers to Flagler from Brevard Community College. She posted a 27-16 career record and fanned 141 batters in 252 innings pitched. She was an All-Southern Conference second-team selection as a freshman and a first-team all-conference member as a sophomore. At Satellite High, she recorded a 1.65 earned run average and fanned 456 batters. Munafo earned second-team all-state honors in 2008.

Personius is a 5-foot-8 second baseman who is coming off a stellar two-year stint at Florida State College-Jacksonville where she was a two-time Louisville Slugger/NFCA NJCAA Division I All-American. She is also a two-time all-region, FCCAA all-state, all-Mid-Florida Conference, all-district tournament and all-state tournament selection. Personius earned first-team All-America honors as a freshman after batting .407 with 22 doubles, 11 home runs and 49 RBI for the Stars. She helped lead FSCJ to the state title and a fifth place finish at the NJCAA Championships.This past season she batted .407 and hit a school record 15 home runs and drove in 58 runs for the Stars. Her 26 career home runs are also a school record.

The quintet joins Lauren Bessent, Katie Enright and Kalyn Loverich in Overton's 2010 class.

“Assistant Coach Megan Burke and I can't wait to start this season, knowing who we have returning and with the new talent we have coming in,” said Overton. “We have the potential to have an impressive year as only a third year program.”

Flagler College is a member of NCAA Division II and the Peach Belt Conference. Last year the Saints went 28-24, overall, and 10-10 in their first season in the Peach Belt.
