Flagler women's harriers picked seventh in PBC
Flagler picked to finish seventh in the Peach Belt.

AUGUSTA, Ga. − The Flagler College women’s cross country team was picked to finish seventh, along with USC Aiken, in the Peach Belt Conference’s preseason coaches poll, released today by conference officials.
The Saints tallied 32 points and received one of the 10 first place votes and also picked up one fifth, one sixth, three seventh, two eighth and one ninth place votes.
Five-time conference champion Columbus State University is the preseason favorite with 74 points, including receiving seven first place votes. Augusta State University (67) and Clayton State University (65) are a distant second and third, respectively. Georgia College (52) and UNC Pembroke (51) are fourth and fifth while the University of Montevallo (45) was tabbed for sixth.
Following Flagler and USC Aiken is Francis Marion University (23) in ninth place and Georgia Southwestern University (20) rounds out the field in 10th place.
The Saints finished ninth in the Peach Belt Championship last season and only lost one runner to graduation.
Flagler opens the season on Sept. 11 at the Remembrance Run at Georgia Southwestern in Americus. The conference championship will be held Nov. 6 at Evans, Ga., as part of the first-ever PBC Fall Festival which will see four conference titles (men’s and women’s soccer and men’s and women’s cross country) be decided at the Blanchard Woods Park.
