BANNER ELK, N.C. − The 22nd-ranked (AVCA/NCAA Division II) Flagler College volleyball team remained undefeated with a pair of wins Saturday and finished the Carolinas Challenge with a perfect 4-0 weekend. Flagler swept Wingate University 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-20) to start the day and then swept the host school, Lees-McRae College, 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 28-26).

For the day, Meg Weathersby (Maitland, Fla./Orangewood Christian) led the Saints with 29 kills and also added 17 digs. Rachel Stacy (Orlando, Fla./Timber Creek HS) led the team with a .481 hitting percentage with 14 kills and just one error on 27 swings. Crystal Niederriter (Merritt Island, Fla./Merritt Island HS) added 18 kills and four total blocks. Dianna Craine (Oshawa, Ontario/University of Tulsa) chipped in with 14 kills and 19 digs. Casey Gnann (Boca Raton, Fla./Spanish River HS) paced the defense with 41 digs. Rebecca Royal (Green Cover Springs, Fla./Fleming Island HS) tallied 43 assists and Olivia Snipes (Easley, S.C./Easley HS) added 26 more.

In the opener against regional-rival Wingate, Weathersby recorded a match-high 17 kills and Gnann led the defense with 25 digs. Weathersby was one dig shy of a double-double. Royal tallied 24 assists for the Saints.

Stormi Gale led the Wingate (2-1) with 12 kills and Maggie Malone paced the defense with 10 digs. Amanda Clark led the Bulldogs with 15 assists.

In the final match of the tournament, Flagler rolled to an easy 25-13 win in the first set, but held on to win the second set 25-21 and rallied to win the third set 28-26.

Weathersby recorded 12 kills and eight digs while Niederriter added 10 kills and three total blocks. Gnann racked up 16 digs and Craine just missed a double-double with nine kills and 13 digs. Stacy hit .538 for the match with eight kills on 13 swings.

Megan Epperson led Lees-McRae (0-4) with 12 kills. Taylor Clendenin added 12 digs while Megan Mitchell tallied 26 assists.

Flagler will next play in the AASU Pirate Volleyball Classic in Savannah, Sept. 10-11, and will open against Rollins College at 4:30 p.m.
