ORLANDO – The No. 21 (Golf World/Nike Golf Coaches Poll) Flagler College men's golf team is in a tie for sixth place after 36 holes of the Rollins College Invitational Monday at the Rio Pinar Country Club (par: 72; yards: 7001). The final round will be played tomorrow

Flagler shot a 17-over par 593 and are 10 shots back of the lead. Carson-Newman College and No. 19 Newberry College are tied for the lead in the 11-team field with a 7-over 583. The host school, Rollins, sits two shots back with a 585.

Spencer Cole of Rollins and Chandler Gruenmeier of Newberry lead the 74-man field with a 4-under 140. Gruenmeier carded the lowest round of the tournament thus far with a 4-under 68 in the first round. Jonathan Kim-Moss of Carson-Newman is one shot back with a 3-under 141.

Joel Dahlenburg (St. Augustine, Fla., Bartram Trail HS) leads the Flagler contingent with an even par 14 and is tied for eighth place. Andrew McCracken (Virginia Beach, Va., First Colonial HS) carded a 2-over 146 and is tied for 18th place. Greg Mergel (Allenwood, N.J., Wall Township HS) is in a tie for 36th place with an 8-over 152. Travis Ralph (St. Petersburg, Fla., St. Petersburg College) shot a 9-over 153 and is tied for 41st place. Michael Boss (Lewiston, N.Y., Lewiston Porter HS) rounds out the Flagler scorers with an 11-over 155 and is tied for 50th place.

Christopher Hughes (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Ponte Vedra HS), playing as an individual, is tied with Ralph for 41st place with an 8-over 152.
