Flagler men harriers’ finish 13th at Southeast Regional

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Flagler College men's cross country team finished a program-best 13th at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regionals held Saturday morning at the McAlpine Creek Park.

Flagler has competed in NCAA Division II regionals since the 2008 season, its first year of full-fledged membership in the NCAA.

The host school, Queens University of Charlotte, topped the 24-team field with 62 points. The Royals had four runners finish in the top seven. Mount Olive College finished second with 62 points and both schools advance to the national championships.

Corey Mundy (Green Cove Springs, Fla., Clay HS) and Mike Lambert (Orlando, Fla., Freedom HS) finished in 35th and 36th places, respectively. Munday posted a time of 33:09.3 over the 10K course while Lambert crossed the finish line at 33:10.0.

Pardon Ndhlovu of UNC Pembroke was the top finisher with a time of 30:55.5. He held off a duo from Queens, Felix Duchampt and Christopher Enriquez who followed with times of 31:09.5 and 31:18.5. The field consisted of 169 runners.

Alex Bonus (Hershey, Pa., Palmyra Area HS) finished in 69th place with a time of 33:59.9. Matt Goodman (Orlando, Fla., Winter Park HS) crossed the line at 34:58.9 and placed 95th. Justin Talavera (Northridge, Calif. , College of the Canyon) rounded out Flagler's scorers with a time of 35:10.7 and a 102nd place finish.

Derek Casciano (Meriden, Conn., Coginchaug Regional HS) finished 108th overall and posted a time of 35:24.0. Zach Shave finished 125th with a time of 36:13.5
