Flagler men's soccer finished the season ranked No. 5 in the country.

Flagler ranked No. 5 in final poll

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Flagler College men's soccer team finished ranked No. 5 in the final NSCAA/Continental Tire Division II Top 25 poll, released Tuesday afternoon.

The Saints jumped from No. 10 in the previous poll to their final standing after closing the year with a 17-3-3 record and an appearance in the elite eight. The No. 5 ranking is the program's highest since a No. 3 ranking in 2002 when Flagler was a member of the NAIA.

Flagler was the only Peach Belt Conference team ranked in the Top 25. The University of Montevallo received votes. Southeast Region runners-up, Mars Hill College, came in at No. 17 while the regional host, Coker College, slid from No. 5 all the way down to No. 18. Anderson University was the other region school in the Top 25 at No. 25.

Fort Lewis University, the national champion, finished atop the poll with a 24-1 record. National runners-up Lynn University were second. Franklin Pierce University came in at No. 3 while Millersville University finished fourth.
