ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College junior forward Loren Cate (Apopka, Fla., Apopka HS) was selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's Women's Soccer College Scholar All-South third-team, announced Tuesday afternoon.

Cate holds a 3.75 grade point average and is a communications major at Flagler. She led the Saints with 13 goals and added four assists for a team-high 30 points this year. Cate played and started in all 18 matches this year. She is second in the conference in goals and points. Cate earned honorable mention academic all-Peach Belt Conference and CoSIDA Academic All-District honors last fall.

Cate is the first Flagler women's soccer player to earn Academic All-Region honors since Marissa McConihay in 2004.

The Flagler women's soccer team finished 9-8-1 overall and 5-4-1 in conference play. The Saints tied for fourth in the final league standings, its highest finish since joining in 2009.
