AUGUSTA, Ga. – Flagler College utility player
Nate Fudala (Cincinnati, Ohio, Turpin HS) was selected to the Preseason All-Peach Belt Conference Team this afternoon, as released by conference officials.
Fudala, 5-foot-11 senior, was picked as a third baseman. Last year, he earned all-conference honors as a utility player after batting .287 with 51 hits and 23 runs scored while starting 48 games at five different positions. Fudala will primarily play third base this year. He was second on the team with 14 multi-hit games.
A total of 13 players were selected to the preseason all-conference team with nine of the 12 baseball playing member institutions having at least one player represented. The team was selected by the conference's head coaches.
Flagler will open the 2012 season on Feb. 3 against the defending NCAA Division II National Champions, the University of West Florida, at 6 p.m. at Drysdale Field. That game will open the three-game weekend series.
