PANAMA CITY, Fla. − The Flagler College men's golf team rallied from 10 shots back to tie for first place with a final round 299 at the Outback Steakhouse Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon at the Hombre Golf Club (par 72; 6541 yards). Flagler finished tied for first with Carson-Newman College and Lincoln Memorial University. Lincoln Memorial lost in the first playoff hole and Carson-Newman won the second playoff hole. Flagler won the tournament the last two years in a row.

Greg Mergel (Allenwood, N.J., Wall Township HS) finished in a tie for third place in the 36-hole event with a 148. He carded a 77 this afternoon and made the all-tournament team.
Joel Dahlenburg (St. Augustine, Fla., Bartram Trail HS) shot a 74 today to finish with a 149.
Christopher Waxberg (Stockholm, Sweden, Hersby) turned in a 76 in both rounds for a 152.
Guangdian "Eddie" Huang (Orlando, Fla., The Crenshaw School) knocked two strokes off his first round total with a 78 to give him a 158.
Christopher Hughes (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Ponte Vedra HS) had the biggest improvement from the first round as he shaved 10 strokes off of yesterday's tally to finish with a 72. He finished the tournament with a 154.
Flagler resumes play at the end of the month at the AASU Pirate Invitational Feb. 27-28 at the Savannah Quarters CC in Pooler, Ga.
