LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – The Flagler College women's cross country team finished in ninth place with 319 points at the 20^th annual Disney Cross Country Classic Saturday morning at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Lauren Rodriguez ran a season-best 5K time of 19:14.50 to lead the Saints contingent and finished in 37^th place.

Johns Hopkins University topped the 34-team field with 24 points as all five of its point scorers finished in the top eight. Malone College finished a distant second with 94 points. Saint Leo University, the University of Tampa and Wingate University rounded out the top five.


Sophia Meehan of Johns Hopkins led the 304-woman field with a time of 17:41.50. She finished just three seconds ahead of Colett Rampf of Saint Leo who crossed the finish line at 17:44.40.   

Heloise Duffie de Tassigny finished in 71^st place with a time of 20:02.30. Lauren Penkala crossed the finish line at 20:08.30 and finished in 76^th place. Jen Gottardo posted a time of 20:22.40 and finished in 85^th place while Sarah Hammond finished right on her heels with a time of 20:23.60 which was good for 85^th place. Sarah Harding had her best time of the season, 21:19.70 and finished in 132^nd place. Lauren Halvorson also recorded a season-best time as she posted a time of 21:45.30 and came in 153^rd place. Shelby Garbett, competing in her first meet of the season, completed the course in 22:32.30 and finished in 192^nd place.  


The postseason starts in two weeks for the Saints as the Peach Belt Conference Championship will be held Oct. 24 in Gainesville, Georgia.
