ST. AUGUSTINE - 
Trace McDonald and 
Ben Nyberg both recorded hat tricks to aid No. 12 (USILA Division II Top 20) Flagler College to a 14-8 win over Barton College in a non-conference men's lacrosse game this afternoon at the Flagler Lacrosse Field.
 
Flagler improves to 6-1 overall and Barton dropped to 1-5. The Saints will return Saturday at 7 p.m. for a home game against Saint Leo University on "Senior Night."
 
The game was tied at 6-6 to end the first half. The Saints went on to score four goals in a row to kick off the third quarter before hearing from the Bulldogs. 
Brandon Grusholt started the spurt with his goal with 14:35 left in the quarter. The Saints managed to take the lead, 11-7, to end the third quarter.
 
The Saints held on to their leading, keeping the Bulldogs to one goal in the fourth quarter.
 
Despite falling short, Jake Ellerson led the Bulldogs with three goals and Nick Nelson tacked on two goals and an assist.

Nate Lehr stood out with 19 saves.
 
Grusholt stood out for the Saints defense causing three turnovers, collecting three groundballs, and he added a goal.
 
Three different goalies saw the field for the Saints. 
Josh Stevens made five saves, 
Wade Lamon had a save and an assist and 
Jonah Smith had two saves.
